Welcome to Alexandria, Nebraska

Alexandria, NE., established in 1872 and named for founder Silas Alexander, is on Highway 53, seven miles north of Highway 136 or five miles south of Highway 4. Located on The Big Sandy Creek and near The Little Blue River, it offers hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Paved access leads to the Alexandria State Lakes with hook-ups, restrooms and a dump station that provide year-round camping and fishing.


  • USDA Rural Development State Director Maxine Moul presented a plaque to Donna Rut, Village Clerk, for her excellence in performance.  "I am pleased to honor the clerk who serves the villages of Daykin, Alexandria, Tobias, Western and Swanton in meeting the needs of the villages, some of which are through Rural Development programs.  Thank you for your dedicated service", said Moul.

  • Santa is coming to Alexandria, Saturday, December 19th at the Legion Hall at 2:00 PM.  Cookies and hot chocolate.  Pictures with Santa.  Children and families invited.  Judging Home Decoration Contest that evening. Sponsored by the Alexandria Community Club.
