Alexandria, NE., established in 1872 and named for founder Silas Alexander, is on Highway 53, seven miles north of Highway 136 or five miles south of Highway 4. Located on The Big Sandy Creek and near The Little Blue River, it offers hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Paved access leads to the Alexandria State Lakes with hook-ups, restrooms and a dump station that provide year-round camping and fishing.
